Box Cameras

Picture from a Brownie # 1.  Notice that it had a round frame.

Multi-thousands of box cameras were produced through the century. They were the first affordable type of camera for the masses. This one, the Brownie Six 16 has an interesting art deco front.

The Kodak Brownie #1 (1888) is the most noteworthy of the boxes. It came with a hundred pre-loaded shots, & when all of the pictures were taken, it was sent back to Kodak for processing & a refill. Disposable/recyclable cameras, new idea, not!
